Vertical Garden made with recycled plastic for Axular Lizeoa School.
The Eskolak Biribilduz project is a vertical garden with flowerpots made from recycled plastic waste that have been collected by the students. The garden will be installed inside Axular School classrooms and looked after the students themselves.
The flowerpots were designed with durability, sustainability and circular economy principles in mind. At the same time, they act as a reminder of the pollution and overconsumption associated with single use plastic containers. Their colors, textures and finishes highlight the creative potential of recycled and repurposed materials, turning discarded plastics into cheerful, meaningful objects that invite us to rediscover the value of reuse.
Designed and self-produced by Mazedonia Design.

At the beginning, we carried out a selective collection of plastic waste together with the students of Axular Lizeoa School. We set up two containers at the school entrance to collect bottle caps. Over the course of two months, the containers were in place and thanks to everyone’s effort, we managed to collect a total of 100 kg of plastic caps!

Photos of the process:
The flowerpots were produced in our workshop. We used a mechanical plastic injection machine, together with an aluminum mold designed for the flowerpot. Safety measures were always followed throughout the process. The colorful flowerpots were made by mixing shredded plastic from the bottle caps. Finally, the flowerpots were assembled into the vertical garden.
